Puppy and Dog Training with " manners,
MATTER! ": As the name says, manners do matter when you
live in a crowded city and your pup drags you down the street chasing squirrels,
barks at anything and everything when left alone, or your roommate threatens to
toss Scrappy out the window the next time she steps in poop with his bare foot in
the middle of the night! We've all been there....Lucky for you, we offer simple
and modern training techniques that enable you to communicate with your pup. Your
relationship with Scrappy should be happy, fun and fulfilling.
We offer the following areas of dog care and training:
- New Puppy Training: includes potty training, walking your dog on a leash,
how to leave Scrappy alone, basic puppy proofing of your home.
- Puppy and Adult Obedience Training: basic
commands to communicate with your pup, such as: sit, down, off, leave it, drop it,
come, etc...
- Behavior Modification: Dogs living in NYC have a very different life compared to dogs that
live in the suburbs or the country. Most of our pups are more
opt to be left alone longer, confined to small spaces, or over stimulated on walks.
We offer simple training techniques to help you gain control over rebellious Scrappy
so that he/she is a well mannered and friendly pup. Behavior
Modification techniques include positive and negative
reinforcement depending on behavior.
It is recommended that all people who live with Scrappy must be present during training
sessions to ensure techniques are consistent and exact from one person to the other.
The key to training your pup is being DOGGEDLY CONSISTENT, (pun intended!).
We do not offer or recommend doggy boot camps
(meaning we do not provide a place for you to dump your pup off for training without
your involvement).
Dog Walking: Mainly to relieve themselves, so you don’t come home to
unwanted puddles or messes. Most importantly, gives them a chance to stretch
their legs, smell the roses, get some exercise and play. Walking also allows
dogs to socialize with the world. Our handlers use positive association reward
techniques while walking. This technique allows your dog to associate things
that typically causes stress (such as bicycles, buses, cars, other people or
dogs) with something good, like a treat or a “happy” reaction during the
encounter (good boy/girl with a pat on their head). Positive association
teaches your dog to be confident and also makes for an easier walking
experience. This learned behavior will be evident while you walk your dogs as
well!
*We never walk more than 3 dogs at a time.
*Private walks are offered at a separate rate, please inquire.
Kitty sitting: Daily visits as per pet owner. Includes feeding, changing water, litter box maintenance and lots of love! Times for feeding and any other care required will be followed as per owner’s instructions.

*We also offer sitting for any other type of pet you have, as long as it’s not illegal! Some exceptions will apply. But no lions, tigers or bears please.
Pet Sitting: : When you are out of town for the holidays or on business trips and need someone to watch your baby. Our handler will stay in your home overnight. It’s a proven fact that pets are much happier when they stay in their home. Boarding at a kennel causes stress and Pet Pals, nyc does not believe in pet stress.
- Generally starts at 6pm and ends at 9am. Includes one dinner walk, one bedtime walk and one morning walk, as well as feeding AND lots of love! Times for walks, feeding and any other care needed will be followed as per owner’s instructions. Additional midday walk may be requested as well; daily walk rates will apply.
Cat Behavior Management Workshop: This is a great learning tool for
owners who never parented a cat before, as well as for long time parents whose
cat is exhibiting behaviors that seem uncontrollable or unpleasant. Domestic
cats portray the natural instincts exhibited in wild cats that make it
difficult to train and obey basic commands like with dogs. They also have short
term memory, which makes it harder for them to remember anything you tell them.
Therefore, cats offer a different type of human companionship than with dogs.
This workshop teaches the human parent to understand how to react and deal with
cat behaviors and personalities, creating an environment that brings peace and
love between cat and human parent.
Vet visits: If you can not take off from work to bring your pet to a
scheduled vet appointment, Pet Pals, nyc is available to help out. Please
provide us with 48 hours notice. We will provide you with a detailed summary of
the visit as well.
